Half term sucks….

So it’s half term and in our house we hate it not only do mommy and daddy hate it but little miss L hates it too.

You see she loves school and when it’s half term or even the weekend she’s willing school to start again for the simple reason is she is constantly bored.

For a 6 year old that has everything from all the board games and toys you could imagine to a tablet, laptop and phone she is still bored. I look at her when she says ” Mommy I’m bored ” and roll my eyes.

How can you be bored child you have so much you could do yet you are not content with any of it.

I have tried the whole when I was younger speech and she just stares at me blankly and you can see her thinking , your lying mom. Well I’m sorry my lovely I’m not when I was 6 me and my sisters and brother had to make our own fun. Most likely with boxes and paper I can’t remember 😂 but we didn’t have iPads and laptops and phones . We spoke to each other through 2 tin cans and a piece of string.

We played outside until it went dark we got fresh air we didn’t sit in the house watching silly videos on YouTube.

Children today don’t know how lucky they are and they think us as parents are being unfair when we say no technology for an hour. Bring back the good old days I say. Where families can actually have family time and there aren’t phones or social media to interrupt that precious time.
